The demo on the site is actually the old 1.3 version. The interfaces are mostly the same, with one big exception. All script-wide functionality has been moved to the admin.cgi script. List specific administration is done in the subscriber.cgi script.

So, if you want to add a new list, you have to go to the admin.cgi script.

It should have asked you to set the password the first time you ran it. You can get to that screen again by simply deleting the file named ".admin_pass" in that same directory as admin.cgi.

Once you log in to the admin.cgi script (you don't need to select a list or anything), you should be able to just click the "Add New List" button.

The drop down box with mailing lists in it is just a way for you to log in to that list without having to go through subscriber.cgi directly.

I have deleted it again Can you try to see if you can set my a second list for me

Maybe I did something wrong on setup

I was able to create a list. The password has been set to "test" for now... you should change it. Or, better yet, create another new list from the admin.cgi script so that the directory is something that actually makes more sense than "my_list" given your list.

Yeah, and you login with whatever you set it to initially.

The key here is that the password to login there can be different than you use to login to any individual list. That admin script just gives you power over the entire script and all of the lists it manages.

You don't use the admin.cgi script to log in to any individual list.

You can enter any password you wish. If you want to use the same one you use on your lists that's fine.

After that you can go ahead and use that pass to login to admin.cgi. From there you can click "add new list" and go from there.
