Verfication message under subscribe form

I would like the messages - after someone subscribes or unsubscribes - to appear under the subscription form so that it looks neat. At the moment the messages appear in the same window and take up the entire window. The user has to use the browser back button to return to the website.

Is this possible? Thanks in advance.
