Editing Subscriber.cgi question

Hi guys,
So I've installed and setup Subscriber Pro and it works great! My only question comes to editing the Subscriber.cgi file.

I've already edited the header and footer sections the way I like them but I wanted to edit the actual text displayed by subscriber.cgi when signing up for a newsletter.

The problem is when ever I try to edit the text and run the script I keep getting a 500 error. I've been using notepad when editing and have been very careful not to change anything other than the displayed text in the subscriber file.

I've already gone through the basic troubleshooting of checking to make sure the permissions are set correctly, correct paths, etc.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

When you do that and re-upload the file, make sure you are transferring it via ASCII mode if you're using FTP.

Basically, it seems like this might be a line return issue. Windows uses a different way of doing line returns than is used on Unix. So, if you're running the script on a Unix system and the script, which is essentially just a text file, has Windows-style line returns, then you will most likely get the 500 error.
